Inspired by Brabrand in Aarhus… an alcohol-free celebration for high school seniors in Copenhagen
Today, the municipality of Copenhagen gathered around 6,000 high school graduates to experience a new way to celebrate the last day of school through an alcohol-free event, contrary to what is customary, according to the DR website. This was inspired by student celebrations in the municipality of Aarhus in the Brabrand region.
The festival program included artistic performances by Annika and Kesi, with the audience interacting with their musical performances and live show, which added a festive atmosphere to the occasion.
The municipality has allocated a budget from public funds to organize this festival, aiming to provide a safe environment that brings students together away from the dangers associated with alcohol consumption, and promotes a spirit of celebration appreciated for the beginning of a new stage in their lives.
The student group also participated before their last day through a survey distributed by the municipality, in which they expressed their wishes regarding the components of the ceremony and suggested the names of the artists they preferred to attend. The results of the survey formed the basis for designing the program and organizing the event.
