Free dentistry for all within ten years, free buses for young people up to age 22, tax cuts and more in Enhedslisten's announcement of their achievements in the new Danish government

after Mette Frederiksen announces government agreement The new development yesterday, Monday, is that the Unity Party is the first party to reveal to the press some aspects of the formation of the government, and according to the party's political spokesman, Billy Dragsted, the Unity Party negotiated the following:

• Dental care is free for all Danes for up to ten years. Starting next year, this program will include early retirees, those with chronic illnesses, and the most vulnerable groups. Afterward, the program will be expanded to include other categories until it is free for everyone.
• Bus and train services will be free for children and young people up to the age of 22. Bille Dragstedt stated that this will happen "soon." In addition, ticket prices will be cheaper for all Danes. This will be funded through taxes.
• There will be a full exemption from VAT on fruits and vegetables, and VAT on food items will be reduced by half.
• Lower rents: Billy Dragsted says that “thousands” of non-profit public housing units will be built, but the new element is that the government framework will give public housing companies first refusal on all privately owned rental units on the market. Dragsted adds that this measure aims to “transform speculative housing into non-profit, non-speculative housing at affordable prices for the general public.”.
• The government will promote equality. It is unclear what specific measures Billy Dragsted is referring to, but a key demand of the United List party is that the next government commit to reducing inequality.

It is not yet clear how the four new parties in the government will pay for these benefits, which will cost billions of kroner and will have to be funded through taxes or through reforms.

It is also unclear what concessions the Enhedslisten party made to achieve this package of gains, which raises questions about the party's promises regarding the issue of immigrants and refugees, which the party leader has not addressed up to the time of writing this article.

The name of the new government is derived from the four parties: the Social Democrats, the SF, the Moderates, and the Radical Wenstre, with the Unity List (Enhedslisten) being a supporting party. On some issues, the new government can rely on the support of the Alternative party (Alternativet).
