A widespread IT outage is affecting most Danish municipalities' information systems.

According to TV 2, Danish municipal IT systems suffered a widespread outage on Wednesday evening, causing difficulties for employees in accessing a number of municipal systems.
KOMBIT, the municipal IT group, said the outage appeared to be affecting all municipalities in the country, and that the company was continuing to communicate with municipalities to address the problem.
KOMBIT's head of communications, Lars Skov Granrud, told TV 2 that the first report of system problems came in around 3:30 p.m., noting that work was underway to fix the malfunction.
KMD, which provides IT systems to KOMBIT, confirmed a malfunction in the municipal systems, stating that it is working with KOMBIT to determine the cause of the problem, but the cause is not yet clear.
The outage caused operational problems for some municipal services. TV2 Øst reported that home care staff had difficulty accessing systems containing information about citizens they were required to visit.
KOMBIT has not yet given an expected date for the systems to return to normal operation, and Granrod said that teams are working hard to resolve the issue, without being able to determine how long it will take to fix the fault.
KOMBIT manages a number of shared IT systems used by municipalities, both by employees and citizens, including widely used systems such as the Aula platform.
