Acting Foreign Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen (leader of the Moderate Party) announced after a meeting of the Danish Parliament's Foreign Policy Committee on Tuesday that the committee had given Denmark the green light to contribute militarily to a future operation in the Strait of Hormuz. The acting foreign minister told the media, "It's about ensuring there is political momentum on this issue, and we would like, in line with a number of like-minded countries, including all the Nordic and Baltic states, to show our willingness to support such an operation.".

Acting Defense Minister Troels Lund and Lars Løkke Rasmussen also stated that during the meeting they discussed the war in Ukraine, the ongoing diplomatic process with the United States regarding Greenland, and the situation of the closed Strait of Hormuz in Iran, according to local media.
