According to information published by local media this morning, voter turnout in Tuesday's general election in several predominantly ethnic minority residential areas such as Tingbjerg in Br\u00f8nsh\u00f8j, Vollsmose in Odense, and Kvaglund in Esbjerg was significantly lower than in the rest of the country, marking a lower level of participation in the Danish general election compared to the 2019 election.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In Vollsmose in Odense, the turnout of Danes of immigrant origin was only 63.1% of those eligible to vote. This decline comes after the 2019 elections saw a marked improvement in voter turnout among minorities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On a national level, voter turnout across Denmark was an average of 84.1%, slightly lower than the 2019 election turnout of 84.6%.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The source stated that the Frie Gr\u00f8nne party, headed by Skander Siddique, a Danish politician belonging to the ethnic minority category, was the second largest party in Vollsmose in terms of votes with 27.8%. In addition, the Frie Gr\u00f8nne party in Tingbjerg in Copenhagen was the first party in terms of obtaining the highest percentage of votes, surpassing the Social Democratic Party by several percentage points. It is also an area inhabited by a majority of immigrant origins. However, at the national level, the party headed by Skander Siddique did not reach the minimum threshold of obtaining 2% of votes, but only obtained 1% of votes.
