An agreement has been reached in the European Union to standardize the use of a single type of charger for charging portable electronics, and the majority of Apple products are affected by this agreement.
This news came from the European Parliament's Committee on Consumer Protection and the Internal Market, IMCO, shortly before noon on Tuesday. According to IMCO, EU member states and EU lawmakers have agreed on an agreement to guarantee a single common type of charger in the EU.

According to the new rules, laptops must also be adapted to support USB-C connectors, but manufacturers will have an additional 40 months, so the rules will not come into effect until 2027.

According to EU calculations, the new rules will save consumers up to 250 million euros a year, which has so far gone to unnecessary purchases of chargers, while the EU estimates that 11,000 tons of electrical scrap can be avoided each year by introducing a common charger.
The tech giant Apple has made profits so far by selling adapters so that its devices can also use USB-C, and that sale has now been destroyed by the European Union.
It is worth noting that the European Commission's proposal for a common charger has faced strong criticism from tech giant Apple, whose iPhone and iPad chargers use a USB-C connector only in a few cases. This has allowed Apple to make a lot of money from selling its own Lightning chargers, which are only compatible with Apple products, but this venture appears to have come to an end in the European Union.
